A singing competition is bringing together contestants from the US and Mexico. Tiffany Galaviz, a resident of Glendale, Calif., is among the finalists. She has a personal connection to her Mexican heritage. The competition's finals are scheduled to take place on September 13.
The semifinals were previously held at a theater, where winners were chosen by online votes. Galaviz advanced to the next round.
