Residents have complained about their treatment by the California FAIR Plan Association. They report experiencing delays and being underpaid for their claims. Some have also been denied assistance or had requests for testing and remediation of toxic contamination refused.

An investigation has been launched to look into these claims handling practices. This probe will examine potential violations of a state law.
