Los Angeles County lifeguards were busy over the weekend, responding to a large number of people seeking relief at the beach due to extreme heat. The lifeguards reported performing nearly 2,000 rescues from the ocean. In addition to the rescues, lifeguards took over 71,200 preventative actions and provided 517 medical aids.
